Power mom branches out Like many Washington working moms, Chris Lisi was torn between her job and her family. So, she’s changed her role from vice president at the Glover Park Group to consultant and opened her own shop at home to spend more time with her toddler, Willa. “I’m actually busier now,” Lisi confessed to Suite Talk. “But I’m at home, and I’m on my own schedule.” At Glover Park, Lisi specializes in health care public affairs. At Chris Lisi Communications, she handles a broader portfolio, including PR for the hospitality industry and grass-roots organizations. Before Glover Park, Lisi had been a communications strategy director for AARP, a managing supervisor at Fleishman-Hillard and an aide to then-Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn.). Even with her vast experience, Lisi allows that running her own business is proving to be “in some sense ... a little tougher. “I’m selling what I can deliver,” she said, “not what my company can deliver.” |
